Bachelor of Science in Oriental Medicine Degree Program

The program aims to provide the student with sufficient knowledge and skills as enlisted in the Educational Objectives of the School, in order to enable them to integrate formal academic learning with health -care associated experiential training to relate to real-world needs.

Requirements for graduation:

To complete the Bachelor of Science in Oriental Medicine degree program, the student is required to complete or have the equivalent of a minimum of 130 Quarter units of which a minimum of 60 units will be in Core Courses of the School and Upper-division Major courses 24 units should be in General Education courses from any of the following areas: Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Learning Skills to include Computer Sciences, Statistics and Mathematics courses. The remaining 36 units will be taken in Biological and Natural Sciences and 10 units for bachelor thesis to meet the total unit requirement for the degree program.

The candidates who have enrolled in the combined fast-track B.S.O.M./M.S.O.M. programs require to complete their undergraduate courses with a grade point average of 2.0 or better (C on the Universal Scale of 4.00= A) in order to be admitted to the graduate standing.

Conditions for Graduation and Continuation:

  • All courses are 3 quarter units.
  • All students will be offered a minimum of 42 units per Academic Year.
  • Only those students who have obtained a GRADE POINT AVERGAE (GPA) of C=2.00 or better on the 4.00 Scale will be permitted to continue to graduate level.
  • All students who do not attain the requirement for continuation of their studies at postgraduate level will be awarded the Baccalaureate Diploma of the University. Such students may return to the School for postgraduate studies only AFTER 5 years of field work in their profession with written attestation by their supervisors testifying progressive advancement in the field. The decision for re-installment of such candidates will be with the Academic Committee of the University, and will be considered as final, with no right of appeal by those candidates who have been denied re-admission.
